HEALTH (PHS11)

Students will study various health topics throughout the semester pertaining to Health and Wellness in adolescents. Topics include, peer pressure, dangers of alcohol - tobacco, and learning to prevent unwanted pregnancies.


9TH GRADE PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PPS81 & PPS82)

Requirement Satisfied: Physical Education

Students will participate in various group games throughout the semester. The games are designed to promote physical fitness, and teach cooperation. Students will play Volleyball, Basketball, and other activities in order to achieve these objectives. This course is taken concurrently with Living Environment.


10TH GRADE PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PPS83 & PPS84)

Length of Course: 2 semesters

Requirement Satisfied: Physical Education

Students will participate in various group games throughout the semester. The games are designed to promote physical fitness, and teach cooperation. Students will play Rugby, Softball and other activities in order to achieve this objective. This course is taken concurrently with Chemistry.


11TH GRADE PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PPS85 & PPS86)

Students will participate in various group games throughout the semester. The games will be designed to promote and maintain physical fitness with a focus on developing efficacy in sport. These games include Basketball, Volleyball, and Rugby. This course is taken concurrently with Earth Science or Physics.


WEIGHT TRAINING (PQS11)

Students will learn various weight training techniques in order to achieve their individual fitness goals during the semester. This will be accomplished through the use of treadmills, stationary bikes, free weights and weight machines.


FITNESS (PFS11)

Students will participate in exercise routines designed to increase both cardio vascular health and increase muscle development. This will be accomplished by using light weights, floor exercises, and circuit training routines.
