Soon you will be applying to college. A very important and sometimes daunting task in the college application process is applying for financial assistance. We are having a FINANCIAL AID  PRESENTATION to inform you and your parents about the resources that are available to help you pay for your college education. It is never too early to get informed.

During this presentation you will learn valuable information about…

  • How to get free tuition at CUNY and SUNY Colleges-The Excelsior Program
  • documentation you will need to provide when filing for financial assistance
  • the basics on filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)to find out how much Federal student aid you may be entitled to.
  • the different types of grantssuch as TAP and PELL & loans available to supplement your financial package and much more.

Our presenter will be Michael Turner from the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC). HESC is New York State’s financial aid agency primarily responsible for awarding students grants such as the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) as well as 20 state scholarship and loan forgiveness programs.
